Game Structure
Any player taking the court with a Melbourne Netball team, must sign
a 'Waiver' and ' Player Registration' Form before playing your first
game. If this is not upheld, no insurance claim can proceed.
Please be aware that netball is a LOW CONTACT SPORT
Game Structure Details
Melbourne Netball Umpires are booked for players to :
- Implementing the 2001 All Australian Netball Association Rule Book and uphold Company Bi-Laws. NO other role is performed.
- To coach and educate players of the 221 RULE Interpretations in the netball game
Before the Game
Umpires and teams players
meet on court before the game commences. Umpires read an announcement
on behalf of Netball Management. They may introduce a rule-of-the-night
to focus on which educate players. Uniforms are checked, points
are deducted if required and scoresheets handed to teams for the
game scoring.
Half Time
Umpires approach teams for
any rule clarifications. Ask for some tips!!.Please be polite to
them. All umpires understand they are required to explain any decision
they have made clearly to a player. This occurs at structured intervals
of the game which the rule book states. Incorrect uniforms can still
be deducted at this stage.
End of Game
Umpires check scores and award
Best and Fairest to their agreed choice of player.

Note:
1 point is added to your opposition score for incorrect uniforms : one point per item of clothing

Time commences on Co-ordinators Time Clock
Note
Each team must supply their own game scorer. No umpire is responsible for scoring. Not penalty if not supplied
4 Quarters are 9minutes
Half Time is 3 minutes
Bye:
"BYE" on your Fixture means : no game to play. This will only alter if
your captain is notified by Melbourne Netball Administrators that a new
team in your grade can create a scheduled match.
