When writing an Incident report please follow these points that we require as legally recorded information that may be used in a court of law.

  1. Write a point by point description of the incident
  2. Deferentiate between what you saw as a witness and what another witness has reported tpo you. Don't make it sound like you have heard or seen something that was actually heard or seen by another person.
  3. Do not be vague. Supplied a detailed description or you may be requirested to redo the entire report.
  4. Keep it in chronological order. A timeline must unfold.
  5. Keep it professionally descriptive and delete emotional reactions that you may have.
