Individual Players : Team Building Player

This particular service has proven to be extremely effective for any individuals wishing to join a social netball team of players in Mixed or Ladies teams to play every week for a season. Of our current 47 teams created in this design, 45 have remained together for more than two seasons of netball and have a strong social interaction. None of these players had previously met each other. This works effectively as we separate the committed players from the less committed.

Melbourne Netball chooses a season and venue during the daylight savings period only.

 

  • We place 8 individuals into a team
  • Each individual player pays $160.00 upfront online in the applicatoin process. This payment confirms a place in a new team. This cost does not change regardless of when the team enters the season. This covers the fixtured games and insurance per person however does NOT include the Finals games or the eventual team ownership of a ball and set of bibs. This DOES NOT include the weekly cash umpire fee of $15.00 which increases to $20.00 per game as of 1st September 2009.
  • No playing skill details are taken into account.The team sorts this out amongst themselves during their season
  • We ask you if you are prepared to be a captain
  • No training of a team is expected unless it comes from within the team and it is a mutual agreement made by ALL players.

NB: All players must be 18 years or more to play with Melbourne Netball.

Games details

  • All games are 40 minute time slots and all players must be able to play ALL times in a season.
  • They are 6.20 (Flagstaff  & North Melbourne only) 7.00/7.40/8.20/9.00/9.40pm ending at 10.20pm
  • We choose your team name and begin the building of a team
  • We correspond with you one week prior to your first game reaffirming the details on this page
  • As soon as we have a full team we email all team details to a team captain and send an email to all players in the team with direction details to log into your new team message board.
  • You try logging in and clicking onto your team message board name and post up your own hello to your new players
  • Keep a close eye on your team message board to communicate all details amongst yourselves before your first game time   eg: Any one own a netball or bibs? Who is happy to pay the first $15 cash fee for the umpire this first week? etc can be posted up 

Uniforms and bibs

  • We will supply your bibs on your first week only. The team will then be required to buy a netball ($15) and Bibs ($60). Please ensure that you are all wearing black bottoms and white tops to be a uniform until you decide as a team what you would like. The cost of Bibs and a Ball can be shared amongst you, or if an individual wishes to own these they can purchase them.

Umpire Weekly Cash Payments

  • This umpire game fee will increase to $20.00 per team per game as of 1st September 2009. As a company we are not permitted to handle umpires payments. A weekly $15.00 cash payment must be made directly to the game umpire before they commence your game. We suggest instead of bringing along $2 each week this cost could to be rotated amongst you. For example you may pay round 3 and round 10 of the season.

First Game

  • Go to the office and speak to the evening coordinator.  You are required to sign both a ‘Waiver’ and Registration’ form before taking the court. If you don’t you are not covered by insurance when playing. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to your first game so you have time to do this and also meet with your new team members. You will be able to read your name on the fixtures once they are posted on the Melbourne Netball website.
NB: In the unusual event that we cannot get a team filled ourselves, we can either try to place you into another current team wanting players, place you on our 'on-call player' board to play for free and refund your $160.00. If a refund is required, we would email you requested you BSB and Account details.
